Description:
Interaction in virtual reality systems and animation-time visualisation requires data refresh rates of about 10 frames/sec if the user is not to be confused by the system response. Systems also need to able to apply transformations to the data set and retrieve current value. Such systems are enhanced by computational steering which gives the programmer direct control over the execution sequence of the program. Implementation on a parallel platform is usually necessary to achieve the required response times but introduces complexity into the system. This workshop invites papers on all aspects of interactive visualisation and computational steering, that make use of parallel and distributed designs to enhance their effectiveness.
Topics of interest include:
- Clustering
- Multi-resolutional modelling
- Data Compression
- Sub-region operators
- Distributed Array Query and Visualisation (DAQV)
- On-line monitoring
- Load Balancing
- Process Migration
- Algorithm Animation
