Description:
This workshop concentrates on the provision of efficient high-performance input/output between a parallel system and the outside world. The existing disparity between I/O transfer speeds and processing rates already creates operational difficulties for many existing applications and this problem is expected to become more acute with increasing application size.
State-of-the-art papers on any aspect of the problem are invited, together with contributions reporting on applications withsignificant input/output requirements.
Topics of interest include:
- algorithms for efficient parallel I/O
- input/output evaluation and monitoring environments
- characterisation of I/O patterns in real applications
- I/O benchmarking
- MPI-2 I/O implementations and evaluation
- parallel file systems
- high-performance I/O subsystems
